Optical properties of oxidative controlled titanium nitride thin films

Pulsed laser deposition (PLD) assisted fabrication of epitaxial titanium nitride (TiN) and titanium oxynitride (TiNO) thin films with noble metal-like reflectivity, large negative dielectric constant, and figure of merit.
AFM was used to image a RuO2 surface in an electrochemical environment. The result was compared to density functional theory (DFT) calculations to develop a model for surface water oxidation.

Tracking Water as It Reacts on an Oxide Surface

Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) imaging of the RuO2-water interface shows the evolution of surface water during the water oxidation reaction. This achievement is unlocked by the advancement in AFM and charged surface modeling.
